The Wildcat MAX Birch wand itself is approximately 18 inches long plus top cap and has a 36 inch (approximately) elastic cord.? The wand is birch wood, 3/8″ in diameter for a good strong feel.

I spent months playing with the idea of the elastic corded wand and had to find the sweet spot for length and cord thickness. The best attachment I tried on it was my new feather tailed rat and my cat went ballistic. She LOVES the attachment and LOVES the cord. It takes some getting used to and you must take care to not let the attachments spring at your cat if it gets hung up on something, but it also offers a feel that a string and wire line cannot do. If your cat grabs the attachment in their mouth and walks off while playing, they can walk and the line gives an increasing pull back on them. I suspect this feels like real prey to them. You just need to make sure you do follow so it does not come out of their mouth and snap back at you like a slingshot. I suggest you start slowing using this and learn how to manipulate it, how best to follow your cat with it and how to avoid it acting like a rubber band and hitting your cat or you.

There is a 4″ plastic area at the bottom of the wand to offer a more comfortable area to hold the wand from.

ATTACHMENT:
The Feather Tailed Rat attachment averages 5 inches from nose end to feather tail end and is made using Deer hair fixed to a Buffalo leather core that runs through the middle. The tail is feathers. The connection to the wand is via strong cord loop at the nose of the Rat. I do not dye the deer hair or feathers either.

Being the birch wood, deer and feathers are natural and not dyed, color, hue and size will vary slightly.
